An introduction if you will.....

Welcome to the back porch! This Texan loves to visit Manhattan. It's always interesting to see the opposite end of the world! :D

I too am interested in the history of knives and their makers. I hope as you accumulate more historical knowledge about this shared obsession you'll be sure to share it with us. Many of us are new to traditionals and thirsty for information.

Welcome to the slippery slope. There is a fine bunch of women and men here, who care about interesting knives, and about each other!

Welcome! Lot's of diverse backgrounds and experiences among the members here who happen to share a love for traditional knives. All around, a great group of folks and a very welcoming and respectful community. Again, welcome and glad to have you on the board.

Another new guy here, just started getting re-interested in traditional knives and slip joints about a month or so ago, already have 5 including two customs I picked up at ECCKS yesterday. This is more dangerous than the modern folders!

It seems like lately there have been a lot of us seasoned knife guys getting back into the traditional knives. I'm new to this sub-forum too, and I can tell you that it's quickly becoming my favorite. Happy to be here, and WELCOME to all!

Welcome aboard!

You'r right, this is maybe the best forum on the 'net, and the best bunch of people you will find. There's friends and there's family. The folks here are family. And that's a nice little classic knife you have there, as well as a little knife with class!

Carl.

Sorry I forgot to include the ladies there. Thanks for such a warm welcome. To answer a question:
I began collecting slippies when I came accross this guy:

For those who don't know The barn XX logo as well as the burnt oatmeal bone are exclusive of "Tractor Supply" stores. The trapper is still my pattern though I may stray from time to time.

Welcome, Immolatus. I'm kind of new myself, but have had nothing but fun, informative experiences here.
