An introduction to RAT

Braun and 1604, for me. When I get back I plan on getting a place nearer to Bandera, TX. Maybe just Helotes...depends on how far SA has crept outside 1604 by the time I get back.

1604 and culebra for me.... If I ever moved back that way it would probably be towards new braunfels or gruene.

Always nice to welxome another TEXAN into the RAT Fold. Welcome. THe RC4 and Izula are my current duo of RATS. It's a great pair.

Welcome to the forums! You'll find no better blade, nor better community anywhere. :)

(PSSSSTTT: Let Jetblack know my B-day is comming up too... and I need another Izula).

:D

Hi Libertas,

Appreciate you joining our little cove of insanity here. And thanks for trusting us with your knife purchases!

Welcome aboard, You will love those RATs

My favorite rifle is my Marlin 1894C in 357. Takes care of biz deer/pigs no prob. have you tried hornady leverevolution ammo. works great in my marlin.
Not yet but will look into it. I found the winchester in the pawn(gun) store and it is chambered in .32-40 it looks to be made sometime around 1948. Cant wait to get out and use it along with the new knives coming!!

And thanks R.A.T!!! The knives are perfect for what I want....tough as nails and built to work (the fact that they look great is a nice benefit!). Will post some pics as soon as I get them and hopefully I can put em through some paces out here.

Welcome to Bladeforums

So are ya'll making enough Cactus beer to invite all Texas Rats to drink with you?

We always have some cold homebrew on tap. I will post a thread when the cactus beer is ready, and anyone who wants to come on down is welcome.

Welcome aboard, Libertas.

To me seeing a bunch of folks that are THIS passionate about a product means its likely a quality company and product!

For me, it is the quality of the people at the company. I mean look... both of the owners posted in this thread, along with some of their dealers. That kind of personal attention is something that is too rare these days. RAT Cutlery could sell lesser quality gear and still get my business, just because they care. :)

Hearing that our product 'snags' a new customer in the field like that is a happy story. I would rather have 5 good customers that saw the knife work in the field and wanted it because they saw how it worked rather than many who just thought it was the next best cool thing and had to 'collect' it. Thank you for buying and using our knives. Mike

Hi Libertas,

Now that right there speaks volumes, I don't care who you are. ;)

So there I was walking in the brush, cutting cactus fruit for this next batch of beer Im going to brew, when a friend of mine (I think his name is jetblack on the forums) pulled out this incredibly cool knife called an Izula. All I had was this old folding knife I picked up from Walmart. Talk about knife envy!!! You can WRAP it too!!! oh man too much! He told me about these forums and I have been reading non stop while stuck in court (wonders of modern day technology). The more I read, the more I am struck by the comaraderie and wealth of information. So now based on the info I found here, I have an IZULA coming and an RC 4! Cant wait for them to arrive and see how they work! I got an old winchester lever action rifle in the works and I think its time to hunt some hogs and see what these knives can do!

Anyway, I wanted to introduce myself and tell yall how much I have enjoyed reading the forums an learning about RAT and survival info!

I think you'll like them pig stickers very much.:)
