An old abused Kabar jack...

Nice pic Ed! They're roundabout the same size too. I'm glad they found a stablemate. That type of nail nick is tricky on a strongly sprung knife you are right. The bone is a nice colour and jig, they did that one in stag too...that would be a decent catch!
 
Tlarbb that improvement is dramatic. certainly made a bummer go to a sunny day. i think this pattern was made by most of the players in american cut. not to sidetrack the thread but how did willgoy get so much knowledge about older american knives?--dennis
 
Great thread and it has inspired me to start the clean-up of a Kabar Ez-pull that I have. Will need some basic clean-up and fix for the main blade wobble. After that I have a buffing wheel on order and will take a crack at putting a satin finish on the blades and bolster.

Tomsch, that looks like a great project. Post some photos here of your progress with it. Looks like a good knife that seen a bit of neglect and a bad storage environment. It should clean up well though. - Ed J
