In 2001 after recieving a Buck 311 Trapper with a Winchester shield in a trade, I began researching it on the internet and found a crazy little place called BladeForums. At the time I wasn't much of a knife collector, I impulsively put the knife on Ebay and sold it. After hanging around here and becoming a full blown knife nut, I regretted selling the 311, especially after I got the matching SFO 301 with the Winchester shield a few years later.

Well after a heads-up from a fellow forumite (thanks again 300Bucks) that there was one on Ebay, I managed to win another 311 Winchester/Buck for what I thought was a real deal, $33.00, considering I sold mine in 2001 for $113.00. Got it in the mail a few days ago, and not only is it MINT, it was still in the original packing!

Kinda cool to have the set together again.

TLC, that's a great ending to the story, and nice that 300Bucks was watchful and nice enough to give you the headsup, I'm happy for you:).

Are there others in that set:rolleyes: :D ????Preston

To my knowledge, it's only 301's and 311's that were part of this order, the last few years I have been haunting shows for a 311 and have seen 1 other 301, but never any other pattern with the Wichester shield.

Here is the original thread, and my very first post on bladeforums, where the late Vern Taylor gave me the info' on them.

Besides this thread, I also spoke to Mr. Taylor on the phone about these knives, I have never forgotten how polite he was to take the time to talk to a complete stranger and share what information he had.

The knife collecting world lost a great resource when he passed away!
