First of all I thought your diatribe was entertaining and hilarious! You may have missed your calling in marketing write ups.

I also appreciate you pushing a product/knife that you love and want to share the great experiences your enjoying with others. I’m guilty of the same thing quite often.

Poking the bear by comparing to a sebenza, another brilliant marketing move cause it will certainly evoke a response. Whether bad or good the anax will be discussed.

Overall, job well done, but of course I disagree. The well kept secret is that Les George is truly the greatest, not a king but rather a king maker!😂

Here is my snarky response:
  • longer cutting edge, slightly more belly - A tiny bit more cutting edge means nothing.
  • greater steel (M390) (with exception to new magnacut) - M390 is not "greater" than S30V/S35VN/S45VN.
  • thicker blade stock - Objectively worse.
  • thicker blade tip - All this means is that the edge near the tip is more obtuse and cuts worse.
  • stronger grind (flat) - This is ridiculous. Knives are made to cut. A crowbar has no grind, which is "stronger" than a flat grind; does this make it better?
  • no thumb stud - Not a benefit.
  • 3 ways of opening - groove flick (or slow open), front flick, middle finger flick - Goofy.
  • rare contoured handle swell (width) - Not interesting.
  • more ergonomic handle - No.
  • bigger pivot screw - Not better at all, it looks hideous on the Anax.
  • special triangular hardware - Objectively worse.
  • integral construction - Good luck trying to fix the knife when blade play develops.
  • over travel lock bar stop - Not necessary at all.
  • smaller gap in frame for lock bar cutout - No benefit whatsoever.
  • replaceable and removable lockbar blade rest - Who cares.
  • ceramic ball molded pocket clip w/ no hotspot - The clip is hideous, and the Sebenza clip is better.
  • 2 different kinds of jimping for thumb - Made me laugh.
  • insanely buttery bearing-driven smooth action and great sounding detent - More goofy stuff.
  • one of a kind lanyard system w/ 2 types - Made me laugh.
  • sweetest presentation box - Made me cry.

[*]sweetest presentation box - Made me cry.

Yeah I don’t get this at all, I thought CRK was the one with the fancy box w/tools, grease, authenticity card, etc…?
My microtechs all came in a box, not much different than ZT, except it has a removable lid lol

Could be worse, and I do like Microtech obviously, I own a few, but I like others a little more (RHK), and not because of the packaging

I still don't understand those dumb screw-in "fobs" it came with. Having that sticking out of your pocket? Hard pass, and I saw this as someone who was interested at one point in these. Those dumb things would have stayed in the box for the next owner to enjoy. I mean, it doesn't even have a deep carry clip, which would make a fob more useful, soooooo....?

I believe Scott Cook worked for Chris Reeve decades ago and learned tight tolerances from that experience. And I believe Scott Cook was the first knife maker to create the integral. And for 2 decades he was the only maker to make an integral with the contoured (swelled) handles. Now others, including the Chinese, have duplicated his achievements.

Well, the designer was Ben Dover...
In researching this knife more, I didn't realize this knife was made in China by Rike. Rike, another company with IP stealing issues...Sounds like a match made in hell.

$600 for a knife made in China is about $400 more than I'm willing to pay.
