Ancient Edge

Are these guys still around? I read alot of bad reviews and havent heard anything lately. I just wondered if they were still making that "combat knife", whats it called... hmmmm, oh yea, the Shitsatsu, no I mean Hissatsu.

I think this came up again recently -- like maybe in the last couple of months -- but I don't remember if it was here or maybe in "knife reviews and testing." You might want to do a search for Ancient Edge and/or "Hissatsu." The thread I'm thinking of included a link to an older one from the archive; the consensus on them was very negative.

I think the negativity was surrounding the marketing ploy and poor choice of handle materials as well as price. It was a good design, (the samurai didn't seem to mind it) and I liked it alot but I couldn't see spending the money on such a hyped up blade with plastic handles and CRAPPY sheath.
