I aquired this in Alaska. I got it for an eagle scout but the little fella never finished his project. Carved by an inuit in Juneau, Alaska. Very detailed and nice. See pictures. The black spots are some kind of dust or junk...not attached to the ivory.

Interesting piece. Do you know what type of ivory it is? What is ancient about it, the ivory or the carving? Thanks.
