  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

.....and down the rabbit hole we go

I like the way you think. A little hook would be a great tool.
Macks knitting needle?
For threading and splicing rope this would be a terrible design, for working knots it would work well I think.

This is just a clay model, fooling around to see how it would go. I might try a different twist, one that goes in opposite directions, I'm sure it has a name, but I have no idea what it is.

I would call it a South American Helix - the one you show, I believe, is a North American Helix - considering the coriolis effect.
That's me - just inventing a name but I think, based on sound principle. Although I might be dyslexic

Ray

Whatever you call it, it looks like a great tool.

Factoring in the rotation of the earth might be a little much in this case lol.

Technically speaking, I'll give it a whack whack bangaroo whammy and see what happens.

Third project, Mack's Marlin Spike Hooky Thingamabob.

Had to start the afternoon with some hammerin, onto bigger things.

...can stand in as a tent stake - little tent . I think he'll like it.
Still to be rounded right?

Ray

Yeah, i'll round it by hand, my hammer skills are lacking in that department.
