And Now for Something Completely Different!*

Charlie, I guess the best I say is that those look they were made 70-90 years ago. And that's a fine thing. The jigging, the rounded, pinched bolsters, just the way it all flows around itself. Even the color of the bone booms with the voice of way long back. Does in fact look like one hell of a carrying knife.

Well done. Again. ;)

I agree with you, AIW! As I sit here looking at these things, they bring back every bit of old time goodness that the antique ones do!

Glad you all appreciate GEC's efforts. I just hope they can weather this darn financial doldrums, and remain a part of our history.
There aren't too many companies left that actually care about traditional knives like we do!
In respect for our rules here, I will not answer pricing or availability questions. My sole purpose is to show what is possible, and who's doing it! I hope this falls in line with our usual discussions about the various cutleries.

Just wondering if you know something we don't Charlie. Is GEC facing financial troubles? I thought they were pretty solid.

Anyway, nice effort on the knives. They look first rate -- jugging is very nice. When is the Oregon Show this year and what kind of a display will you be taking with you?

Ed, GEC is doing fine. It is tight for everyone, but they are definitely O.K. They have some exciting new patterns coming out this year (a teardrop if we go with them for the 2011 knife!). And NO, I have no further knowledge of what patterns!!

Oregon Show: April 9-10; 8-10 if you are a member. Setup day for members is Friday, and it's a lot of fun!!

Eugene, Oregon is a great little college town, with some nice old neighborhoods and super restaurants.

I don't believe that the phrase "And now for something completely different" was ever used on any of the original Rocky & Bullwinkle shows.

I have searched the internet for some clip or other proof of the phrase being used on the R&B shows but all I found was postings like yours saying they think it was. It's the old dog chasing it's tail phenom.

I don't know if it was used in later R&B animation after the 60s, but if it was it was a rip from Monty Python.

First post - necro post. I think this material is a little dated

A little dated and not about knives. A candidate for closing.
