This is a Heirloom sword that was commissioned by a client. The sword will be passed down from son to son...The family has an english heritage that goes back to the 12th Century.
The blade is 1000 layer damascus with random pattern from the forging out of the bevels (something I like to do)
The blades measures 880mm and over all is about 110mm.
The blade feature a pronounced fuller with flat ground bevels.
Gaurd and Pommel is steel (engraving being done on these)
The pommel will also house a silver disc provided by the client with the family crest 3D engraved on it (fine silver), these will be mounted on the pommel with a plate and rivets to hold it in place.
The grip has a black stingray wrap with sterling silver wire twist, looks super fancy!
The family names and dates will be engraved on the pommel facets, so there is essentially room for 16 names
I hope to be done in the next month, currently waiting for engraving and silver discs to be completed. but most of my work will be done this week.
