A few months back I announced a knife design contest in which I was looking for designs for my new company, then called Dragon Forge.

We received many designs and it was very hard to pick a winner. In fact we actually have several winners because many of the designs submitted will actually go into production in the not so distant future. But the first design to hit the market will be by David Winch. His Mini-Raptor design was actually very close to a in house design we had already made tooling for. Se we modified our tooling to his handle shape and we now have a collaboration under our new BOSS line of knives. Congratulations David! That is an awesome design for sure. How cool is it to see your name on a knife like that?
 
I should have actual production in a few weeks. The knife you see on that page was computer generated by me. In fact every page was by me :D

But look for them soon and ask your favorite dealers for them as well.
 
Looking good...color me impressed...:D . I'll definitely be picking at least a couple of those up. Great looking designs, and I'll especially be looking forward to the balis.

I'm a little confused, Mike...is it still Dragon Forge, or is it now BOSS? Or is BOSS just the name of the line within Dragon Forge (like CUDA and Camillus)?
 
Nice studff Mike. I especially like the use of G10 with a good quality yet affordable steel to keep the knives in the <$30 range!

Is the "HC420" steel similiar to the steel used by Buck and Camillus?
 
OK where do I send the check and how much is shipping gonna cost, forget it I'll just send you my credit card and a release from state that you have my permission to bill them as they come out. Is the 420HC the same as buck and cammilus is using.
 
420 comes in many varieties. Our 420 has a good bit more carbon than regular 420 or the J2 version. I was thinking of giving it a name like Cold Steel did with Carbon V but this usually creates more confusion so I named it something we all can relate to.

The Dragon Forge name will be reserved for a future project involving only oriental style knives and swords. BOSS is more general and translates well into many languages.
 
Are you people serious? What a bunch of junk. Knives with mohawk haircuts? Knives that look like a bird, or a Strider? You're gonna make a fortune, Mike. China has sold millions of $5 knives. Now they're gonna sell millions of $25 knives. Congratulations.
 
Price is nice. 30$ for a knife. But what about quality ?
I learned hard way that you are getting what are you paying for.

P.S. hope these balis will be at least a little bit higher quality than M4. Aluminium handles don't look promising :)

No excitement here. Due to the extraordinary number of ripoffs and in the catalogue, and in light of the fact that you have not sent me the contract as promised or finalised any sort of payment plan (payment in factory knives was never going to cut it) I am not willing to have my name associated with your company. Please remove my profile from the catalogue and my name from the knife.
If that means my knife joins the rest of the knock-offs, so be it.

You lost me on that. My email was down but the last e i have from you was from the 15th. What did you send since then? All seemed fine, why the change and whay knock-offs are you talking about?

Also the factory has agreed to what you wanted and we will have the paperwork and design fee you asked for to you shortly. Please read the email I just sent you.

Very interesting work there.

I didn't see credit given to Joel Pirela or Steve Ryan. Did they submit their designs for your "Squid" (Joel's "Vortex" body) and "Mohawk" (Steve's entire "Silver Knight") respectively . . . didn't they?

I too had high hopes for this... but this is not good... this isnt even bad... this is ugly.

Those people without their own idea's and filled with un-adulterated greed, preying on and feeding off those with individual creativity, sucks, is disgusting, is immoral, and is purely ugly behaviour. :mad: :mad:

But then again, I doubt that will matter to some people... :rolleyes:

Damn. This company is off to a wiz bang start.
Ripped off a few well known kife makers, have one guy so pissed he wants out, this thread shall be an intresting one to watch.

Do it (what ever it takes)!
Do it right(unless it costs money)!
Do it right NOW (rip them off, it takes them awhile to get around to the law suits)
