I was getting ready to profile a handle today, but I became inspired to do some welding instead. David Sharp gave me an idea a while back that I have been contemplating and I may have found a good solution. Care to guess what will be attached to that unfinished square tubing?

Hollow grinding jig?

That would be my guess too, but then again.....Ryan has always got these whacked out ideas so it could end up being an ipod docking station or possibly a little table to put his beer. He has been known to consort with small dogs and I thought he might be building a sitting area where his favorite teacup terrier can watch him grind. Now I'm really dying to know what this is going to be!!

Hmm now you got me wondering how to make a ipod/beer docking table. Combine the best of both worlds lol.

What is it going to be, heck I'm not entirely sure what it is now. It's appears to be some sort of grinding machine, but clearly the belts are waayyyy too long. Everyone knows real men only use 2x42 belts. :D

outdoor speaker mount/beer holder/...light attachment/bracket to mount dust collector if ever needed? maybe even attach an arbor an run a disk off that pulley in the back?

I was going to put out a hint tonight when I got home, but responses like this are way to good to rush things. Thanks all for a great laugh.

OHHHH I know now!!!!

Its a angle grinder attachment so you can grind the back side and the front side of the knife at the same time!!

One or two of you are in the ball park, but it's a big park. And, some of you have made me stop and consider a new direction. What was I thinking, when I could be making these?!!!

Now it's time for me to lower expectations. It's not done. It's not great. It won't cure cancer. I won't make me a better maker. But....I like it. I still have a bit to work out. Maybe tomorrow I can show something worthwhile. The first correct guess gets a shout out.

OMG, I thought the coffee mug and the speaker were great, but...........Monkey perch, I like that one!;)

C'mon, Erik....this teasing doesn't suit you. Pony up some details!! Besides, I don't have any more witty little posts left for ya!:D

Jon, Just between you and me, I need to stall here.

I started (another) post with an idea, but it turns out it needed a little more massaging before prime time. The details will come! I don't think anyone will be impressed, but hopefully some are amused. It's been that kind of week for me. However, I stopped production on a knife I really want to finish for this, because I think it will help in the end.

BTW, you went +1 on a hollow grinding jig. You are not correct and you are not wrong.

We have a winner. "Holla, David! Good job!" That's exactly what it is.

A multi-position, rotating, sliding in/out thing.

David

Honorable mention go to William for hollow grinding jig and JonnyMac for this:

Jon, you also get the martini award for calling me Ryan. Ha!

Everyone that posted gets the participation award and my appreciation for a fun post for me at least.

On to the multi-position, rotating, sliding in/out thing…….
