And Then There Were Three

Nice selections OP:thumbsup:

For me, I would keep
- Hinderer XM-18 3.5" Bowie flipper
- Spyderco Military Rex 45 (Police 4 as a close 2nd)
- Spyderco Delica 4 zdp-189 (Benchmade 556-1 as a close 2nd)
Thanks!

Of the more recent blades that are down the road, I miss the Delica ZDP-189 the most.

The 940 would probably have to go for me. I've just never been really able to get into the Benchmades. I find the 940's overall profile to look a little odd for some reason and the Axis Lock thing just seems overly finicky. Probably would've kept the Delica instead.

I learn something new every day here and today thanks to Pickergrinner and Google I now know the meaning of Triumvirate :thumbsup:. To answer your question I would lose the 940. I had one a 940-2 with G 10 scales and the flex I felt while doing some hard push cuts on double thick cardboard turned me sour on it but 4 knives later I picked up a BM Bugout Gray for its slim profile and lightness in the pocket so don't go by what I say because the Bugout is twice as flexi as the Osborne . Maybe the Aluminum 940 is more rigid but I haven't had the chance to use one yet.

I got the 940-2 for my dad a few years ago. He's used it harder than me but they feel similar to me.

How about the pentavirate from So I Married an Axe Murderer :o

Change the 940 to the -1. The -1 has better grip, it’s better looking, imo, and has better steel, imo. With that said, I’ve been carrying the green 940 for the last couple of days.

Replace the Sage with a Chaparral. The size goes better with your lineup.
Oops, that two:D

I was never a big fan on the Delicas looks but after picking one up on a whim and using it for a week I found that it ticked all the boxes for a perfect work knife. Goes to show ya that looks aren't everything. The texture of the scales reminded me of the top of an oreo cookie but now I get it.

It's another vote for the 940-1 over the 940.

Chaparral is interesting. I've not considered it much but the dimension are very close to a knife that I used to carry ALL the time, the Protech/Strider PT collab. The size was really useful and it had a great deep carry clip. My nitpick on that knife was the gargantuan sharpening choil that would catch on everything.

Yeah it’s basically a smaller Sage. It wasn’t for me but it’s a great small folder.

I'm also thinking the 940 should be a 940-1. I did that and it was a right move for me.
Unless you prefer the ali/S30V, then the 940 should become a 943.

Very nice trio though
