I almost hate to bring this up, but I wanted to catch you before you disappear again. A lot of folks (including me, of course) have been wondering about the Becker folder. Just in case you missed it somehow, it looks like this:

There are a whole lot of folks (again, including me) who want one of these. The fact that so many here on Blade Forums want one should be at least some indication of how it would be received by the general populace, I would think. This thing just screams “Becker,” and would, in my humble opinion, be a tremendous seller, and a great addition to the Becker line (which really should have a folder in it).

It’s been nearly four months now since it was first shown here on the Becker forum, but there hasn’t been a single word about it so far. I know you’ve been exceedingly busy, but could you at least give us a hint? I have to admit that my curiosity is just killing me, so what do you think?

You don’t have to say anything, of course, but it would be nice.

If it makes it any easier, I’ve provided a handy form below that may help.

Handy folder response form for Ethan:

a.) Yo, Bobby, that’s a really great folder you’ve got there, and it’s just what we need for the Becker line. Man, this is really exciting — finish it off and send it to us right away, so we can get it into production as soon as possible, because people are going to absolutely love it, and we’ll sell a ton of those beauties. Boy, I can hardly wait!

b.) Hey, Dawson, about that folder thing you did. We’re not sure that it’s exactly what we’re looking for right now, but we’re sorta thinking about it. It does look kinda like a Becker folder should look, but how can we be sure that it really is a folder? I mean, we haven’t handled one, after all, so how can we really know? We’re going to form a committee of consideration to consider the subject considerably, and we’ll get back to you considerably later. By the way, I showed it to my dog, and he didn’t seem overly impressed.

c.) Uhhh, Dbob, what the heck do you think you’re doing? Who told you that you could put my name on that, that . . . thing? Do you do these things just to annoy me? Just how dense are you, anyway?
Oh, well, since you’ve already done it, we might as well take a look, but I have to warn you, it’s not what I had in mind . . . and my cat doesn’t much like it, either. We’ll take a look when we get around to it — maybe — someday — when there’s nothing better to do, and maybe we’ll get back to you. Then again, maybe we won’t. All I’m saying is, don’t hold your breath, old man, ’cause you look really funny when you turn all purple . . . know what I’m saying?

d.) Folder? What folder? Who did? When? I didn’t ask . . . uhhh . . . whazzisname . . . to do a folder. Well, I haven’t got time for this right now, I have to mow the lawn. Did the dog like it? How about the cat? No? Then fugeddaboudit.

e.) What’s that idiot up to now? Folder? What folder? Naw, just ignore him, and maybe he’ll go away.

f.) Folder? I don’t need no stinkin’ folder. How about a toaster? Can he design a toaster? I could use a nice toaster . . .

g.) Stop, fool, you’re annoying my dog with this folder nonsense, and you can’t even design a good toaster. If you can’t design a nice toaster, what good are you, anyway?

h.) None of the above. What makes you think that I want to talk about this, anyway?

i.) Why are you talking to me about this? Isn’t a BK2 enough for you?

Put me on the "a" list.

Thanks, BrewCity, another vote is always welcome.:D

Folder - awesome.

Dbob's reponse fodder - even better!

Thanks, abarnhart. At least someone thought the response form part was funny. Personally, I thought it was hilarious, but I'm easily amused.:D

I think Ethan will think it's funny, too. He may not respond, but he should get a chuckle out of it.;)

Screw the folder, you can make a toaster? A Becker Toaster? :D

Seriously, I'd go with A. A nice folder is needed in the Becker line IMO.

I could design a Becker toaster, once I figure out how to make it work in the field. The toaster wouldn't be the real problem: carrying the generator for it would be.;)

Thanks, Game. I think we need a nice folder, too. I have done exhaustive research on the subject, and I've determined that folders are much handier things to have in the woods than toasters.:D

A
I loves ma folders. I EDC another brand right now, but would quickly get rid of it for one of those puppies. Sign me up. Moose

Ya know, once I got my mitts on my BK-11 and my BK-2 I thought I was done buying knives for a while. I mean - these two are ridiculously great and do what I need done. I did end up buying a Ka-Bar Dozier the other day (heh - I'm weak) but holy crap do I want that Becker folder.

That thing is a must have... IF... it gets produced. :D

I think it's a must have, too . . . IF it gets produced.

My fingers are crossed.

Thousands of views, hundreds of replies. In fact, I don't think I have seen it bumped in a couple of weeks, but I know the interest is still there. do it do it do it do it.
Dang, right into chant mode!

there's at least three separate threads on this now, including this new one.

so, really, that's probably enough. i'm sure THEY have seen it by now. how could they not? in their world, they probably can't acknowledge that though.

at the cost of robbing the other threads, perhaps some toning this down? yes?

thanks

 Actually, this thread was mostly just meant for Ethan; it wasn't meant to spread — it was simply a consolidation.

I say keep it 1095 Cro Van... for a big outdoor use folder such as this, there certainly aren't many wallet friendly high carbon options out there. We know this stuff is tough and offers awesome edge retention, so why not? It'd be nice to be able to sharpen your survival or woods folder with the same stone you use on your big blades...
