...and there it is...511 at the Yard.

Very good points you have made, LVC. The different aspects of the two blades are certainly there. I guess my point is they are not different enough for me to have them both. My DM is the DC vesion so I dont have that crazy thick tip and extreme robost edge. Thanks for the pics.
it's a fair bit different from the dumpster mutt. It's got the larger rat style handles instead of the slimmer older basic handle, it's 3/16" thick instead of 1/4", and it's sr101 instead of sr77 meaning it will hold it's edge longer and be less likely to dent/mash/roll. The biggest difference (if this is the case) may be in it's edge. The dumpster mutt is one of the rediculously overbuilt knives in the bussekin catalog, especially at the tip. If this rendition has a thinner tip and edge it will act like a totally different knife, like the difference between a BOSS jack proto and a BOSS jack LE. also, the distance between the hand and the edge is notably shorter making it a more compact design that wastes less space on the needless second guard.

This looks like a totally different knife than the dumpster mutt I had. More edge, thinner edge, less wasted space. Really all the things I complained about are fixed (though a choil is still there).

Ain't you guys just a ray of sunshine. Lets be nice to the Pound Puppies

Dave you know better than to feed them! I feel sorry for the porkrinds that want to learn about INFI and get confused with the Mutts and Rats! Time to Frag!

Looks like a ScrapMandu to me.

Exactly why I bought one. I like the RMD but I feel it is too heavy for that blade size an thickness so I usually opt for my HR Gen 2. I have wanted the 511 (the idea of it) for a long time.

Especially when you can get THREE 511's for the price of ONE Basic 6LE! I think Jerry over-priced this one.;)
