...and this is my collection...so far...

Hi Slowstarter -

It's only a matter of time until someone suggests a Sebenza and or a Millie lol....

I think you have a nice collection going there.

Thanks for the picture.

best regards -

It looks like you like Benchmades. If you want another one I suggest the Rift. It is their best one IMO. If you want to try something else I suggest giving Spyderco or Kershaw a try. For Spyderco the Manix 2, Stretch 2, Caly 3, and Gayle Bradley are good ones. For Kershaw the OD-1 (available at WalMart), RAM, Volt (probably can't find, but awesome), and many others depending on what you like.

that's a lot of folders. i suggest getting a fixed blade so you can actually use it hard: becker, esee, fallkniven, bark river, etc.

get a fixed blade. I laid a flagstone patio over the past week, and carried a fixed for the first few days. On the last day, I didn't foresee much knife need, so I went back to my EDC folder- only to find that sand had found its way into my folder (easy remedy). My point being, there are going to be times were a fixed is better than a folder (gloved hands, sandy conditions, heavy work load)...and you should have a few options. I would check the Makers forum. There are sooo many quality blades there for the same money, or less.

Well... I have a coupple of Moras that I didn´t put in the pictures. I´ll always use Moras when it´s time for hard and dirty work. Just destroy them and buy a new one... he he...

Get Busse or Busse-kin knife if your budget can hold. If not, check ESEE Izula. Then get Buck 110. No collection is perfect without atleast one alox SAK, Delica 4/ Endura 4 and a Opinel.

Words of wisdom right there:thumbup:

ALOX Cadet
FFG Delica
Spyderco Military
Big 'ol Busse/kin
Maybe an Emerson

Those would be my suggestions:D

Unlike the previous recommendations which in a way urge you to buy a variant of what you have, I recommend to broaden your horizon towards very different knives by trying a decent Laguiole (for example one made by Fontenille-Pataud) or a "Le Thiers" design by Chambriard...

This is a backlocking laguiole with snakewood handles by Fontenille-Pataud, I actually have this model:

Chambriard, not too expensive by French knife standards:

Ohhh... knife guru Dagon made a comment on my humble collection ... I´m not worthy!!!

oh well... I just am interested in various kind of designs from all over the world, that's all... far from being a guru...
Hence I simply like to offer different suggestions to requests for recommendations.
More inline with your current collection, you may want to check out the Böker Plus Exskelibur 1 (or 2 for smaller), the Spyderco Caly 3, the Spyderco Stretch 2 and a version of the Lion Steel Daghetta.

I saw that you have a Nagara, it's sweet isn't it.

The Böker you mentioned isn´t that the cheapo version of Burger Exkelibur? The large Exkelibur is my dream knife (wich I can´t justify the money for). It´s to expensive for another folder ($370). Of course I would like a Sebenza, but I´ve read so much about it that I would probably be disapointed when I realize it´s just a folder that´s a little bit stronger and will last a little bit longer than my own folders.

My favourite knife in my collection (right now) is the Nitrous Stryker. It´s a really nice folder with great materials and I´ve managed to get the D2 steel scary sharp (with a Sharpmaker and lot´s of time. It´s a little to tactical looking but I removed the A.O so it´s now a regualr folder. I wear the small one at the office and the big one when I´m home. It´s a great edc (would not dream to use it as a weapon). I´ve actually used it a lot in the garden.

The Nagara is nice, very solid and but I don´t like the bladeshape that much. A little to pointy, like a Stilletto.

My next knife should be a Spyderco, since I don´t own one.

you're well sorted for folders.

now to get some more fixed blades.

any of the Fallkniven F1/S1/A1/A2 range might find a happy home in your collection.
