and what's next?

So, if I understand what you're all saying correctly... Get one of everything, then go back and get seconds of most of them? Then a third of a couple favorites? Would that about sum it up? Lol

Do the smaller handled Beckers, like the 15, fit the hand as well? I love how the handles on the 9 feel, and I have no way of knowing how the others fit my hands, which are decently large, especially my palms

The smaller Tweener handles fit my hand very well but I find the 9's just a bit too large.

It's trivial to add wraps or liners to the Tweeners' scales to beef them up.

After 9 comes 10 :D
Seriously, the 9 was my first then came 7, 14, 16, 2 and lastly 10. All good knives, we all know that, but to me the 9 and the 10 are magic. Love them! 9 goes in the Rucksack, 10 is a belt knife.
I will buy an 11 to compare it to the 14 and probably a 4, just to have one :)

Alright, so a 24, 15... Get a 2 or a 10 with it? They are similar, correct? Some guys say you need a 2, some say 10 over a 2... The 10 is thinner and higher grind correct? And the 2 is lower/saber grind and thicker? .25 on the 2, .2 on the 10? I do like the thumb ramp in the 9 though, that kinda makes me lean to the 10, but the 2 seems like it'd be just a short beast

The 2 and the 10 are about the same length but the 10 is the same thickness as the 9 and the BK2 is thicker at 1/4" I prefer the 10.

If I'm getting the 15, I probably don't need another slicer, like the 10, right? At this point I'm not planning on getting all of them... But that could change lol

Get the 10. The 2 is a tank and takes some getting used to for anything but destructive tasks. It'll featherstick, but.....the 10 is way easier to drive and hold onto, and is a little more versatile for medium knife tasks, IMO, and you already have the King. If not the 10, I'd say the 16 'cause it's just an all around awesome user of a knife, and it pairs really well with the 9 you've got.

The 10 is not a 'slicer'. It's more a mid-size bushcraft/survival knife.

The 2 and 10 are more mutually exclusive. If you prefer one, you don't really need the other.

Yeah, I told myself that too ... 8 BK's ago. ;)

If I like the handle on the 15 I get, I'll likely get the 16... Just that I don't know how the tweener handles fit my hand makes me Leary of getting two of them right away

Great choice with the 15, I recently got a 5 and 16 that quickly made me realize I should have got a 15 first, instead of the 16 for medium/small tasks. That would compliment the 9 perfectly IMO. The way I would do it (or will do it as soon as I get my 9 and 15) is 9 in the pack, 5 on the strong side hip, 15 cross-draw and 14 hanging from the neck (but I tend to over do it :D).

If you're not planning on getting all of them, then you're doing it wrong.

I should rephrase what I said... I'm not planning on getting them all this year lol, over time I'm sure I will, this will probably be my Becker buy for the year, I've got a fixed blade budget and a folder budget

Is the bk24 D2 steel worth the extra few bucks? I kniw the 1095 is awesome, I don't kniw anything about D2, other than its a tool steel

Miguy,

Greetings from a fellow member of the magic mitten; lots of sage advice already given. My two cents:

Your bk24 is a great choice, I have one and absolutely love it; it's a fine addition to the Bk9, you have both big and small well covered. If I could make a suggestion, get the handles & custom kydex sheath for the bk24, of all the stock sheaths I've really struggled to get the fit of the bk24 any good, retention is marginal IMHO even though the layout of the sheath is quite clever, the execution needs some improvement, my izula sheath is a good example of the fit it deserves to have. Lots of great sheath makers out there; I happen to have a taco style azwelke sheath and enjoy it very much, that bk24&handles&azwelke gets a lot of use for everyday stuff.

Since you have large and small covered, a tweener (bk15/16/17) might be logical. I have both a 16 and 15. The 16 is more useful for general purpose work but the uniqueness of the slicey bk15 is something to marvel at.

I second the posts of the mora. A mora companion in either carbon steel or stainless is a screaming deal, they are awesome knives regardless of their low prices, sharpest thing I own and good for almost anything except the super heavy duty abuse that Beckers are designed for.

Having both the 2 and 10. I find myself using the 10 a whole lot more often than the 2. In fact the 2 is in my get home bag behind the seat of my pickup. He 2 is a beast and will not likely fail. The 10 is just plain easier to use.
nobody has recommended the Machaxe yet, too bad there isn't more love for it. It is probably my favorite chopper and camp blade. It's just fun!

Hmm, coyleoutdoors has the 5 back in stock, and still on sale too... A 5, 15, and 24? And I did look at the machax, as that's on sale also, but I do have a tomahawk, and the bk9

Since you have a 9 you don't need a 4.

I luv my 5's (got 3) but I'd get the 15/16 and 14/24 first.

You ask about the tweener handles, for a mid sized knife they are the best feeling and most useful of any knife I have ever owned! They are now the standard by which I will judge knife fit in the future (medium sized knife - 4"/6" blade). It took Mr. Becker many years I understand to tweak the design of these and his effort is well reflected on these handles.

since the 9 is in your hands this is what i would do first...
get a custom sheath made by 710 with a piggy back sheath for a bk11/14...get a bk11/14 or 24 which ever you like better...
then get a 16/17
then start the 1st process over with the 7 and 13 mm mmmm i love that combo.
by this time you will be so far in you will need professional help NOT to buy another one.

If you have a 9, next up is world domination.
