As a practicing Land Surveyor I resent you sneaking up on me like that! You could at least bring a couple Cokes and some cheese crackers for the guys!! :D I've surveyed in some beautiful places but that really is a wild job site!!

Sweet mother of God... I need to move the hell away from the city...

I rarely have to sneak up on you land survey types... but this
particular geophysical survey is a time domain electomagnetics survey ( in this particular case it involves laying out a large 200m x 200m square loop of wire which is hooked up to a motor/generator and EM transmitter. The transmitter creates a high current square-wave pulse in the loop 30 times per second, this pulse creates a primary electromagnetic field which induces a secondary field in any conductive bodies below surface, the receiver in the centre of the loop measures this secondary response once the transmitter pulse turns off). The contactor hasn't done much of it before.. I was watching to see if they were following my logistical/procedural recommendations to speed things up a bit!

WOW! Awesome pics! The A-SH1 looks much better than on most indoor photo shots. Seems like it feels home out there. Great! Thanx!

Exceptional image!!

Rob,
Very cool pics, thanks for posting them.

Love to see pics of Rat's and Busses in other areas.

In your last pic why are the Llama's wearing earings? Is if for indentification or just to make them look good ;)

:D:D

Thanks for the pics!

The clouds and there shadows really make the SH1 Mt pic stand out:thumbup:

As far as I know it's just to ID them. They usually keep them penned up at their homes over night then walk them to a (sometimes common) grazing pasture in the daytime. They are also wearing bells around their knecks, I am not too sure why...

One thing that has always amazed me here, is just how steep some of the farms are, in the background of this photo you can see the entire side of this mountain is crops, mainly potato, and this is relatively flat compared to some. All the tilling is done by hand (it is generally too steep to work the ground with oxen/horses). It's a hard life.

Thanks for the great pics Mckrob! Beautiful scenery.
Beautiful knives:thumbup:

That's what I miss in our flat land (Holland).

Hauling that much steel up that mountainside must have been fun at the elevation. They're right, you must have iron lungs!
