Really interesting Blend of Cultures in those Blades
Taste is personal but his talent and force of vision undeniable
There are a few in this thread that Id be proud to own..like the one right above this post!

Here is one I picked up for less than one might think, recently, at Nordic. I love his stuff. Simple, beautiful. Called "Red Walrus Kwaiken".

I personally love his style and willingness to go outside the norm. Its interesting to see the varied opinions. I tend to keep my opinions to myself as a fledgling maker.

IMHO, his willingness to actually have a style of his own speaks volumes. While many are beautiful and give homage to tradition, i have become sickeningly weary of straight broomstick handled bowies with sharp angles that most consider the pinnacle of design. Most pieces that "speak" to me set themselves outside the norm and are not universally drooled over.

Theres nothing wrong with a well-made traditional bowie with an oval guard, completely straight, round handle and buttcap....but it doesnt make my heart flutter like a piece that tries to break the mold a bit.

*editied out my final comment, which after re-reading seemed insulting and was not intended as such*

Steven, you need glasses! Those knives flow just fine....it's the Swedish that are a little off balance....but the knives there flow fine.:D

Most of his stuff is fine....very fine.

I usually just don't comment if a maker's designs don't appeal to me. I mean there's different strokes for different folks as they say. But I have to agree with Steven and Joss. I like sleek knives that flow with individual components that look as though they're one. I just don't see that in most of Ander's knives.

However I like Sweetish knives from makers like Andre and Michael Andersson and especially Roger Bergh.
