Anders emailed me these images, and I thought you might like to see them.

This is a 12" bladed bowie with hamon. The fittings are carved and pierced bronze. The handle is some of the nicest ancient walrus ivory that I have seen.

I am finding myself being really drawn to Anders' knives.

Anders Blends cultures and styles in a truly original manner
Love his Work

All his knives are different than the norm. Sometimes that is a good thing or a bad thing, but in his case, every time I see one of his knives its refreshing, plain and simple. Some styles i like more than others, but each one has a unique style and flair to it. I think people with good skills who differ from the norm are just as valuable to the knifemaking community as those who produce ABS style bowies with the "normal" shape, design, handle and fittings that I sometimes grow weary of seeing, regardless of how spectacular each one might be in its own right.

If you guys remember my Tai Goo knife, you will know that I don't have any problem with that style of clip. I like everything about this knife.

That handle material looks very warm and alive. I would like a closer shot of the tip, to see what the grind on the top looks like.

I'll see if Anders can take a photo showing the spine and clip from the top.

By the way, this is called the "Undertaker Bowie".

Anders' work is always a treat to see. Just outstanding walrus. His guard/fitting designs are always so unique, yet seem to fit each piece so well.

The clip is interesting and a top view would be nice. I would say if you had to use this one, the tip design would work superbly. Making the name appropriate!

Here is another Anders Hogstrom, which Anders calls the "Red Walrus Kwaiken" on his website. Besides knifemaking, he says he is a fulltime walrus ivory collector, and this he calls red walrus ivory, which looks a tiny bit like the initial post in this thread. The image will make it rather obvious from where I obtained the knife, lol.

He is a wonderful artist, and his selection of walrus ivories are as good as I have ever seen anywhere.

EDIT: Fittings on this particular knife are his older format of sterling silver and bronze, not just bronze.

FINAL EDIT: SORRY, HAD TO REMOVE THE IMAGES AS THEY ARE NOW POSTED ELSEWHERE SINCE THE KNIFE WILL GO BYE BYE

Keith, I apologize to you if I am hi-jacking. These are some quick shots I took during the last ECCKS in New York. Nice stuff. He makes that Walrus really shine.

Outstanding piece. I'm not stuck on that clip, but not all knives have to made to my particular aesthetic preferences. Handle, guard, blade shape and hamon are all deep into the awesome zone.
