I understand he lives in Australia or someplace like that. Does it cost a lot to ship knives back and forth from U.S. to his home country in the event they need service from the maker?
If not, then I'm jumping all over his work. Always excellent knives and fairly priced!
Edited to add: Jumping all over is cool-speak from an old Northeast fart meaning buying a bunch of folders.
Andre De Villiers is located in South Africa. If you ever check out www.knifeart.com or www.bestknives.com, they list many South AFrican makers. The mail is pretty good to South Africa. I have heard some people complain about postal theft, but it has been my experience that in Africa, most folks who are steeling aren't particularly into knives. By the way, I own a De Villiers folder and I highly recommend him. His knives are easliy the equal of high end tactical makers in the U.S. like Terzoula or Lum but considerably cheaper.
