For sale:
An Andre Thorburn made L36s flipper w/IKBS ball-bearing deployment system. The blade is approximately 3.2 inches of N690 steel (which I had professionally and expertly sharpened to a beautiful and VERY sharp convex edge). The handles are a richly hued, gorgeous presentation-grade Ironwood with stunning grain structure, and the bolsters are beautifully hand engraved with a high contrast motif. The lock-bar and liners are blue anodized titanium - as is the pocket-clip. The knife has been carried a number of times, and there is some loss of the anodizing where the thumb would engage the lock-bar (this happens quite fast ) - it remains a fantastic example of Thorburn's aesthetic eye for a sturdy gentleman's carry style knife with a slight tactical feel.
Lock up is rock-solid and there is no blade-play in any direction.
There is a slight detent/roughness issue which effects ideal blade deployment - nevertheless, deployment is still quite smooth when using the "push button" method of deployment (which requires no "wrist flick") - this definitely gives the best results (see below video), even on par with some of my smoother Thorburns. The "light-switch" method does require a "wrist-flick" (in corresponding with Mr. Thorburn about the matter he suggested regular usage (flipping) and proper lubrication would increase ease of deployment over time). Though not my smoothest Thorburn, it is one I have been reluctant to sell due to its extraordinary aesthetic appeal - it's simply a gorgeous knife. I sell it only because I have a custom slip-joint on the way from M.S. Steve Dunn
I am asking $OLD. (Paypal only - I pay fees and ship with insurance via first class - CONUS only). No trades please. I think that's a pretty great price for such a beautiful Thorburn flipper, if you genuinely feel differently, by all means toss me a reasonable offer.
Mark the thread with an "I'll take it" followed by a PM so I can send payment info. Please pay immediately upon receiving payment information. Feel free to contact me and ask any questions you like - fowlerds@gmail.com
Buyer acknowledges that they are at least 18 years of age and that the knife is in compliance with laws in their area - thus assuming all liability.
**All sales are final unless otherwise discussed**
