Andrew Demko Custom American Lawman

Andrew said it's there to match the fixed blade version.

Yeah thats what I read too. It could allow a pin to stop the blade from rotating as CM said although the blade would be allowed to travel some before hitting the pin. Still, it could be an effective back up for the lock if you just knew in advance you were going to beat the snot out of it. I've actually thought to do that on some I've tested planning to spine whack the crap out of or overstrike hard and of course just to protect my fingers in the event of the unforeseen.

Steve I'm curious as to why you wanted such thick liners on yours? Andrew actually recommends no liners at all but people seem obsessed with heavy duty liners..... I just wonder why.

I have a feeling you will be wearing youself out and the knife will end up looking at you in the end saying

"IS that all you got, who's your daddy? "

I wanted the knife for the end times. The knife for Armageddon so to speak. You know, something that would be a no compromise no holds barred go getter and thats what I got. I don't regret it either. ;) To me the difference in weight between the full lined vs the all G10 was only 1 ounce plus or minus a few tenths and at this point it was like, thats not enough to worry over. My next one from Andrew will be thinner more geared for EDC but this one was one I wanted to be very special. Besides that big as this one is its not really any bigger feeling in the pocket than a ZT 0200 or 301-302. Actually I can still get my hand in my pocket to get my keys with this knife. I was having to take the 301 out first to get my hand in there so in that way its still better. It only weights 2 tenths of an ounce more than the 301 I owned also.

Well in that respect, it certainly qualifies. Although the liners on mine are only half as thick as yours I'm quite keen to try a linerless one myself... when I get round to that I suspect Andrew will say: I told you so. :D

I found the same to be true with my 0301 and it feels like a piece of lead compared to my Demko that is a ounce lighter. :D

He just might. :D  :)

Mine are only .050 also. :)

If one were to use 3/16 blade stock, and the same spring holder/spacer or there abouts to add for the washers in the pivot, and .040 liners one could then skeletonize the liners or you could opt for no liners too. Either way would make for a lighter model and I'm sure it would still be ample tough for most anything. You could make a pretty tough one using 1/8" stock too and if one was so inclined a great 3/32 thickness blade stock and no liner version could be done and the blade grind could be such to allow for some thickness to be retained at the tip third to still make for a fairly tough very reliable EDC folder.

Before I'm done with Andrew I may have some of each! :D

I figure if they can hang 400lbs off the regular AL which is linerless I'm not really going to lose anything in the bargain.... except a little weight that is. Which in summer around here can mean the difference between carrying it and not carrying it.... ;)

I thought they hung 250 pounds of the AL not 400? Still 250 is quite a bit for a folder of this size.

My bad, I misremembered the figure..... was it the Rajah II that took 400lb or did I just make that up entirely? :foot:

Does Demko have a website or email where I can contact him about ordering one of these? Thanks
