Andrew Demko is the Devil...

I recently bought an Ultimate hunter which I am really enjoying. I bought it because it was quite a bit cheaper than the AD10.

But I think being a bit thinner might have been the better choice for me anyway.

Quite a nice food prep knife. Which factors heavily for me.

I've been totally impressed by the Cold Steel renditions. The AD10s are virtually indestructible, and I had to get a 3V version to join the tanto. The build and lock up is impressive, and also very ergonomic.

I thought the AD15 wouldn't resonate and I was way the hell off on my guess there. It's just a cool, fun knife...and very handy / reliable. Really glad I decided to give it a try.

But my AD20s out of the Demko shop are the top dogs.

All that aside...Andrew Demko is still the devil! 🤣 🍻

I totally agree with you on AD20s are the top dogs. That’s why in my collection I have the most knives are from Demkos! Now waiting on my Les George Talos morph to arrive. Never had any folders from him, wanted to give it a try!

I meant the top dogs among my own handful of Demko patterns, whether directly from their shop or built for them according to their specs.

I avoid comparing one maker to another, (especially the ones I have come to respect), so as not to unintentionally give offense.

(I have a George VECP and it is a very nice knife, indeed.)

And I meant that Demko is my favorite knife maker, that’s why I have the most knives from him.

John Phillips John Phillips

Are the titanium scales of the AD10 you show above slab sided or rounded like the CS versions?
The MG AD10 is slab sided but no hard edges. If you made me say it, the Cold Steel AD10 is more comfortable and easier to operate. Not really blasphemy but sort of, lol. Love the Cold Steel AD10!!!

The AD20 Compact is my favorite Demko and that’s a VERY hard choice given all the great models and variations.

The titanium is magnacut, what steel is clip point red-g10? BTW AD-10 all ti is beautiful, I had one in texture titanium but sold it to fund money for blade show 2023!
The Red G10 is 3V. It’s a very early AD20, handscribed 3V etched on the blade, no patent number behind the shark lock and button head screws. I’m always looking for more of these very early models but it seems they are extremely hard to find.

Thank you for that, John. I appreciate it very much.

Haven't had the pleasure of trying out a "compact" as yet.

My Cru-Wear AD20 is hand scribed as well. And anything in 3V or Cru-Wear is aces with me. (MagnaCut and M4 are two other favorites.)

Couple of my favorites. The AD10 is special. View attachment 2934373
That Red G10 is magnificent! I have an early hand scribed Cruwear that was originally red G10 but it is wearing full Ti right now. It has a hand ground enhanced clip point that I absolutely love!

Cant talk about it without a pic...that's Da Rules!

Ya see...red is the devil's color.

I rest my case. 🔥
