Found this cool little tool for calculating primary angle on flat or chisel grinds.

Just remember to use HALF the spine width in the base measurement.

Also, either use mm or multiply your inch measurements by 1000.

I think that only works if you're doing a flat zero grind from spine to the edge.

That or even a simple measurement with a micrometer to get the thickness where the bevel stops and a ruler to get the height would work as well.

I guess on a full chisel grind you would use the full spine thickness, not half as I said in my first post.

Why multiply the inches by 1000?

Oh, cause it requires a minimum of '1'. so a decimal like .250 won't work.

I certainly wouldn't stand in the way of anybody wanting to do that or anything else they wish.
