Angle Grinder rpm

My big Milwauukee grinder grew legs and walked out of the shop need to get another.
It's main use will be to grind down Damascus billets with a cup wheel.
I see that Bosch has a couple models out that have the power with a lot less weight, excellent vibration reduction, and a rotating handle. Pretty nice. One is 6000rpm, and the other is 8500rpm. Same HP.
Will the 8500rpm cut quicker than the 6000rpm model?

I like Bosch tools and own a Bosch router which is very good but very expensive. I also use Milwaukee tools and Dewalt tools. My current angle grinder is a 4 1/2-5 inch Dewalt which is 13 amps and 11000 minimum rpm. It is the best angle grinder I have ever used ( it is my fourth angle grinder). Take a look at a Dewalt before you decide. Just my opinion. Larry

I'm ordering the Bosch primarily for the lightness as compared to the others out there. I used one and the vibration dampening they have in the 1974 and 1994 models works great. Bearing down on a billet for extended periods of time really dampens the fun I have making Damascus. I hope this grinder helps. I've used the big Milwaukees, Makitas, dewalt, an B&Ds at the shipyard. All great grinders but can beat you up after a while. I hope the Bosch grinds to the same level at less weight and vibration. I never paid attention to the rpm before so thought I'd ask.

I had an older DeWalt grinder and I hated it. I did some research and bought a Metabo. That thing has been going strong for 2 years now. Lighter, better ergonomics, less vibration, and better power than the Dewalt that was subsequently donated to Goodwill. I have no experience with Bosch grinders - I own other Bosch tools and I like them. But if anyone else ever needs a grinder take a look at Metabo - you can buy them off Amazon although I bought mine from a local welding supply.
