Here are some better photos of jig and what all is included.13869083927780.jpg13869084505672.jpg13869083188022.jpg13869083432613.jpg

It can be adjusted from zero to what ever angle you need.

In the first photo it shows what would be included in the package for a KMG grinder. That is the jig, platten, 18" work rest, and 12" arm. The one you receive may differ depending on what kind of grinder it will be used on.

Jim,Can you help me out with a Wilton Square Wheel?Really a nice jig!

That would be a tuff one. The work rest and arm would be OK, but the platten is part of the arm that holds the two wheels and looks to be cast iron. There does not appear to be anyway to move the platten in and out. As the non magnetic platten is 1/2" thick it would be out of alignment with the wheels. I would have to make a new arm for the two wheels to attach to. Which is not a problem I make them all the time for the KMG type grinders I build and sell. Your not too far away I live in Waco I'm sure we could work something out.

This is probably a stupid question but since the left side of the work rest is shorter , how are you grinding the other side of the blade .

This is a neat set up , a lot like Franks .

I believe the contact wheel would be in the center of the rest, just to the right of the slotted bar which attaches to the bottom of the contact wheel arm...

Hello Jim.
It appears you have done some fine machining on these. What I expect is that to grind the other side of the blade it must be taken off the magnet, turned and positioned on again. Is this correct? Thanks Frank.

That's it Frank it takes about 2 seconds. Just pull the blade off. turn it around and snap it back on. Press the spine down flat against the work rest and grind the other side. No reajustment needed. Once you have the adjustment set where you want it you tighten the nylon thumb screws to lock the adjustment in place.

Until you get the hang of it always start out with more of an angle than you think you need. You can always reduce the angle and bring the grind higher, but if you start too shallow and the grind goes too high you have a problem. At that point if its not too bad you can adjust the jig back down to zero and take a little off of the flat of the blade. This will bring the grind back down.
Best of everything to you.

Hey Jim, I played on your protype jig at Johnny's, How much for just the jig itself? I cannot use the rest and arm as I have a Burr King

PM sent

That's right you were there. You ever seen 6 or 7 people grind on the same blade and it still be straight. lol

How much just for the jig?...NVM seen it in the other thread.

Tim just the jig would be $85.00 + $5.00 for shipping
Keep in mind you need a long work rest and if your using a flat platten it will need to be non magnetic. If your using a big wheel you will be fine without it.

Jim,
I received a message from you a couple of weeks ago saying that I was number 3 on your list and with my luck, my computer totally crashed. I have a new computer now and just wondering what the status is.
