I`m watching my brother's dog for the weekend, and just came back in from the garden, having made a split-stick noisemaker of some sort, that drove the dog somewhat insane. And i just thought i`d ask here, if anyone knew of different ways to make noisemakers of any and all kinds.
The noisemaker i made, is portrayed nicely right at the beginning of this movie.

It made a bleeting kinda sound, much to my amusement. And i also thought, would this type of noisemaker be able to call animals? I`m sure it`d be able to terrify them, or make them curious.

Noisemakers are fun to make as adults, and i think it`d be even more fun for kids to use.

Thanks!

I use a blade of grass as a reed between my thumbs to call my dog when he is too far off. Large acorn cap makes a good whistle with your thumbs too.

I was sitting in the park doing that one day when a little guy walked up, saw what I was doing, got a blade of grass for himself, and walked off making a lot of noise with it! :)

I turned to look and saw him mother :grumpy: glaring at me.

Off topic a bit, but yesterday I called in a turkey with a harmonica.

I did the opposite. I was walking around a local lake and saw a fawn on the trail ahead of me. I yelled and waved my walking stick overhead and he ignored me. So I took out my harmonica and buzzed into it, real harsh sound, he took off into the woods.
