I'm a tenderfoot, but interested in eventually moving through the steps
to become a survivor in the wilderness
if necessary. I know knowledge and skills
are the key. I am at a good beginners level
with shelter, fire, water, navigation, and a knife, but need help with acquiring food.
Primitive weapons, traps and snares, and any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Gary

Gary,

Thanks for your honesty.

If reading will help we have quite a bit of basic information on our web site including the first four chapters of my online book, several magazine articles and other stuff related to start-up skills.

Books and videos are the next best way to being there as far as learning goes. You might want to check out Greg's book and our videos. Of course I'm partial to video learning as you can see and hear the instructions. The brain is organized to learn faster in this way.

After you have basic skills in your mind you should take a course to learn to apply the skills in the real world or, just practice what you see or read about.

Good luck on your journey, It's a great trip

Ron
