Note to self: When in Africa, don't "F" with the buffalo!!!! Thank you for the link!

Amazing toughness of that little guy !! ..There was another fascinating African film and also a very rare film. It had been taken by eco-tourists who were horrified at the sight of lions killing an impala !!! They must be very removed from reality to go to Africa and not to understand that predators kill and eat prey !

Glad you guys enjoyed this video. It is not everyday that we get to see something as amazing as this.

My friend was a park ranger at one of the preserves in Africa and got to see lots of this type of thing first hand. He has lots of really cool pictures of the wild life. I really need to get him to take me on a safari one day.

Thanks for the link!

Blows me away to think of all that is going on right now throughout the world. It is easy for me to get lost in my little view of life and forget how large and amazing it all is.

Astonishing pictures:thumbup: Real eye-opener.

Those lions must been given a real fright:D

All that buffalo horn made me think of polished scales....

One of my friends shared this with me a week or so ago. She was convinced that the calf probably died of its wounds later, but I think it probably had a pretty good chance of surviving since the lions never got a chance to really tear into it. . . What do you guys think?

African animals are amazingly tough - they have to be to survive in a place where there are so many predators. I've read too many stories about incredible survival of those animals. If you go to forums like www.accuratereloading.com you can get many descriptions and photos of this. The cape buffalo is one of the toughest and I'll bet the calf made it !!!

Never seen a tame cat playing with a mouse? Lions are the same they like to play before killing sometimes:eek: The calf may well have survived as it was running strongly, just shows that if you organize properly you can overcome a superior predator:thumbup:
