Pitdog , the most incredible tracks I ever saw were turkey tracks .On a road with red shale .Over time of course the shale is ground to a powder. There had been some rain an a layer of this mud had just the perfect consistancy. The turkey had walked through it and made absolutely the most perfect reproduction of the feet.Every detail was there ,even the tiniest was perfect !!!

Am I the only one sad enough to take pics of tracks ?

Here is one of a Heron...

I tried some bear tracks in the mud but poor photography skills made them usless :thumbdn:

I did run across some older bear tracks though

Now they are cool, Iv'e never thought of them leaving tracks on the trees !
I can't wait to get some pics of bear tracks, I should be going up Island soon and maybe then I will get some in the sand !!!

Hunting in the Adirondacks we had a new member in the group who asked if there were bears there. We showed him a steel garbage can that had been picked up by a bear -the claws went right through the metal !! Another set of bear prints I should have photographed was put on the glass of my door when a young bear knocked on the door one morning . He got chased !!!

Here are a couple.

It is tough to tell, but I think that bottom one is a front and rear both.

I just saw a bit of a program { NG ?} that showed a young beluga temporarily stranded on the beach at low tide .A lot of whining about the poor beluga and his problem. They failed to mention the very obvious scars of polar bear claws on his back !!! He had already been in far worse danger !!....Another 'wish I had a camera' scene was that of a mouse track. It went for a while then disappeared ! On closer look off to the sides where he disappeared were marks of the tips of the wings of an owl brushing against the snow !

looks like a 410 lever action to me.....
NICE GUN! whatever the caliber....

50 year old Marlin 336 in .35 Rem. There is also a black bear hanging in that
barn. :)
