I posted this in the Swamp Rat forum too and thought I'd share here too as not all Busse nerds visit the Swamp...

The amazing Anniversary Ratweiler landed late yesterday. So an early morning photo shoot was in order. Very cool knife. Love the feel of it.

That's a very cool number :)

I LOVE the handle design on these. The ergonomics are pretty much spot on for my hands...

Hanging out with his mate. I see these two paring up to create some carnage in the near future...

With his cousin who also happens to be sharing an anniversary...

One thing that struck me initially was how thin this knife is. Especially compared to previous Busse & kin knives of this size. VERY cool.

How does it feel compared to the thicker stock of the Chopweiler Rob? My Chopweiler feels like a tank(in a good way) and I'm afraid the Ratweiler Lite will be a disappointment in comparison.

I think it feels fine. The handle slabs are pretty thick so it's nice and comfy. The knife is considerably lighter than the Chopweiler, but I'm sure it's just as tough. I'm keen to give it a workout to see how it performs.

Great knife and great number. It worked out perfect for down there being that it looks the same upside down. :D

Dude you are going to cost me more money.
Now I think I have to have one of those.

Those pics. of yours, tells me that i NEED one of those Ratweilers...;) Congrats...

It's very choppy. When I get a Busse in the mail I usually like to drool on it for awhile, but the second I had my Chopweiler in my hand I wanted to chop something with it. And I did. The thinner blade isn't an issue with batoning. Battonning? Battononing? Anyway, in summation it has amazing ergonomics and makes you want to get choppy.

Great pics Rob... I have been strong on this one and am still hoping for a CG version... :)

I hope to see a video on that Ratweilers chopping power. I'm anxiously waiting for mine from the Ganzaa.

It is a very useful knife shape. My friend skinned and butchered 3 deer with his Chopweiler and it was still razor sharp.
I have used mine in the kitchen

I compared the feel of the Ratweiler to my beloved Chopweiler, and although the weight is less, the balance and feel are nearly identical, as the weight distribution is the same.

I'm sure the Chopweiler will hit harder, but the Ratweiler may bite deeper. One winning feature of the Chopweiler for me is the handle shape, which seems to be designed to allow you to hold onto just the rear end of the handle, and maximize the forward weight for chopping.
