Announcing the 570BK-1801 Presidio® II

Yeah what’s up with the limited edition with the same blade steel?

I just took delivery on a knife that isn’t for me, and my first thought was....... “man, I wish that new Presidio II had M4 steel”

Got mine yesterday. My first presidio and man i didnt expect the heft, but I actually like it more than I thought I would. And they scales look better in person IMO. The price had me a little on the fence but 212.50 for the limited vs 175 for the regular is close enough to be “justifiable”.

I absolutely LOVE my Presidio II And I have no real reason to get another unless it was CPM-M4.

hoping for M4

A knife like Presidio is begging for a hard use steel.

"Limited Edition", same vanilla steel as the original.

*yawn*

mini in M4...

And yes, M4

wouldn’t have to be M4. Could have been 20cv or s90v. Anything different and I’d be in

had M4 steel”

Benchmade Benchmade
Do you see what your fans are calling for?

I have been saying that I won't buy another Benchmade unless it is in M4 (and preferably a 710), but I am not the only one that wants more in this alloy.

You offer it in the custom knife maker, with a Very small monetary increase (when going from S30V). If this is accurate, an M4 knife wouldn't cost much more, but would bring in a lot of knife knuts...

Pay attention to your target audience...
Now that the patent on the Axis has expired, and other brands and custom makers can use it, you will have to do something other than keeping the same old reliable lock keeping folks "locked in"...

M4 is NOT available for all custom knives. I think 1 or 2 don’t offer it.

Admittedly I bought the auto Presidio 2 Mini in s30v because I love the design. The large and small are perfect in my hand and I won’t buy another (special edition or otherwise) unless in M4.

My preference would be and automatic mini in M4, but I would also buy a full size manual if offered in that steel

The only two knives that I see offered are the Barrage and Grip (full size and mini alike) and they are all offered in M4.

Edit to add: apparently they updated the customizer, since it now has the Crooked River. The last time I checked was about a month or two ago.

This is how quick I and many others bought a knife offered in M4....... I received the knifeworks email about the para 2 cf M4 and immediately made my purchase.

Yes, it's time to evolve. S30v while not a bad steel (I don't mind it) should cost less to produce as it's common now. You can get a USA made knife in S30v for $60? I prefer stainless in a folder but M4 and 20cv would be great to see more of.

Alright guys. Duly noted.

Jimmy, I apologize if my comments are coming off wrong. Me and a few others are voicing opinions in hopes that Benchmade values them and they may have an affect on future offerings. They're not intended to bash you or the company you work for (atleast not on my end) and I'm sorry if they have. I know things get lost in text.

Anyway, I appreciate your work on the forum and you being here.

Most places ,that won’t be legal to carry because the blade is over 3.5 inches. Another miss that got green lighted. Why produce what most can’t carry? Benchmade knows better. I’m starting to question staff and who’s called the shots there at Benchmade. May be time for a stir up and overhaul. To many meh knives have been green lighted the last couple years and leaves one to question the staff and I’m not the only one saying this. Forums and reviewers are shouting the same song I am. I’m calling it complacency.

If something is called a “limited edition,” it needs some type of special sauce to make a buyer want to spend a little more for it. Perhaps BM feels that sauce is in the handle on this limited Presidio II. But IMHO, enthusiasts prefer upgraded blade steel first and foremost, and upgraded scales secondary, and if both are upgraded simultaneously, ladies & gentleman we might see a homerun.

  1. This knife isn't designed as a concealed carry knife, it's more of a hunting and workhorse knife.
  2. What states can you not carry this in
    1. Colorado - Can't be concealed
    2. Delaware - Can't be concealed
    3. Chicago - Has to be under 2.5 inches which nullifies your 940 argument also
    4. California has a bunch of stupid city laws
    5. Alot of states have weird laws around scary knives which don't reference length
So unless I am reading the knife law website wrong this knife is easier to carry that BM's OTFs are nationwide. Guess they need to stop making OTF also.

They wouldn't make large knives if people weren't able to buy (and carry) them. There is plenty of demand for a knife of this size.

I’m going to be real here. Everything plays second fiddle to 940’s and Grips with BM. BM isn’t finding their next mega hit like those two. Little buzz around anything new BM does But the two classics are timeless and you milk those to death like the 940 has been with good reason. It’s awesome and the knife world knows it.

Someone hasnt handled a Mini Crooked River. Or seen the massive love for the bugout.

Its legitimately like you're paying zero attention at all to hype. Because its there for a ton of Benchmade offerings.
