Announcing the NEW 535GRY-1 Bugout

Been carrying this Bugout a ton this weekend. Such a great knife.

Blade coating issues on this new Bug Out? Mine is a light user, the blade shows usage badly in my opinion. First task was opening a box of cereal, blade came out with a big white streak from the glue it cut thru. Shows almost everything since & is quite hard to clean off.

Is my blade coating an anomaly or are others seeing like issues? Love it all otherwise, almost a perfect knife!

Mine’s the same, I’m over it now, it’s the main reason I rarely buy coated blades.

I usually shy away from coated blades but went with this because I like the knife and handle color. The coating does show wear but I kind of like it.

Thanks for the reply guys. My exact same reasonings, however I'd had a really good experience with Benchmade DLC & thought some how this would be even better. Not, it is really bad.

Got any pics to show us what you mean? Is the coating actually rubbing off?

Owned the 535GRY-1 Bugout for about one week, and merely scraped the pocket clip against a wood table edge and the clip scratched. (See photo). My understanding is that the blade and clip are both coated with chromium nitride. If the clip can scratch with a minor rub, what’s gonna happen to the blade when used? Hence, I sold the knife.

Looks more like paint rubbed off onto the clip.

Don't you know if there was made Benchmade 535SGRY-1 (serrated) first production? And don't you have a photo of this knife? Thanks.

Picked one of these up used. What a great little knife. Though I guess it's not really that little, just seems like it.

Not at all worried about it picking up some scratches or scrapes when I use it.

Really? You sold the knife because you scratched the clip?
