Yes, that lip is common on Benchmade framelocks. The 755 had it as well as other models. If the 756 is like the 755 it has a heaxagonal stop that you can rotate to adjust lockup.

Many thanks! Is 50% lock-up about what I should expect for Benchmade, and is adjusting lock-up something best left to the company, or can one easily do it? I have a good set of Wiha bits and don't have a concern about taking the knife apart to clean it, but I can see myself screwing up the lock-up adjustment if it is tricky.

I really like the looks but for its size it’s way overpriced. I love Benchmade knives but this one will be a real difficult sale.

It wasn’t difficult to sell to me. Maybe I’m just a knife fool, but I really like this “biggest little knife” that I’ve ever handled. It’s fun to fidget with and doesn’t scare your non-carrying friends. Unique,well made, wonderful materials, solid, and sharp. And I didn’t think I’d pocket another BM........
