If I was an influential employee at KA-BAR, I would simplify the product line mainly focusing on the core WW2 and Becker knives, made here in America, and available in 3 offerings: 1095, magnacut, and 3V. I would also reengineer the classic KA-BAR (and similar knives) so that their rat tail tang became much more robust. Again, offered in 1095, magnacut, and 3V.

I REALLY wish the handle on the Navy Mk 1 was 1/2"-3/4" longer

Does the short fighting knife have a longer handle? The hatchets were marked down to $10 I got a couple for the boys to have.

same length handle and blade, Mk1 has a thicker handle than the short

I thought about buying one, and rehandling it, making it my own....but then, I might as well make it from scratch. Ha
