I've seen cutlerylover video on him attempting to anodize his thrunite flashlight but failing to do so, and it got me wondering if it is indeed possible?
whether by heat or electricity

Would have been fine if he had completely removed the clicky as well as all remaining mechanical parts. My d25c ti turned out great. Just take your time.

Yes, you can anodize aluminum. It must be done with electricity, not heat. It also requires sulfuric acid, steam, and dyes for color.
Heat coloring is not anodizing. "Anodizing" comes from using the piece as the anode.

Nevermind, Don't want to push my luck and ruin a flashlight ;)
