Anodized Chris Reeve Knives

Over the past few months I've anodized a variety of different Sebenza pocket clips, scales, and other parts/accessories. There's a ton of beauty in the simplicity of Chris Reeve knives but I also enjoy tinkering with my knives aesthetically and otherwise. I really don't mess with the performance or design of these knives because, in my opinion, they can't be better than they are right from CRK. Just wanted to make a dedicated thread to show my anodized CRK stuff and add to it as I do more. I thought about putting this in the MTE section but, since we're talking CRK specifics, it should be fine here I hope? I received a few PMs regarding some of the anodizing I did as well so I hope I'm not coming off as obnoxious by showing my stuff off. Just want to share for anyone interested. Please share your anodized CRK too!

sold this small anodized 21 (my first Sebenza) and was able to purchase the following large sebenza 21 that I also anodized,

did some more personalized anodizing (electro anodized timascus and violet backspacer + violet lanyard pin rim) on my small CF damascus 21

did two pocket clips for some newly made customers. Both wanted a "decayed" looking finish with pitting. One with a multicolor "toxic" style finish and another in a bronze contrast timascus style like I did on my own clip insert,

having a lot of trouble getting all the waves to show up right on camera on the bronze one. the contrast is less stark in person and shifts as the light hits it, so sorry if the photos on that one are no good.

and finally a picture of my old EDC with my current one

At the rate I've gotten requests lately I might be able to fund 75% of my next CRK purchase with fun anodizing projects! I didn't really see that coming at all but I'm not complaining. Thanks a lot for viewing!

I mentioned in a post somewhere that I never really worry about anodizing because it's so easy to remove! This is my Large 21 yesterday, no more anodizing.

I actually think that is a nice look.

Love the blue anodization, looks really nice
Thanks, the new owner loves it! I miss that knife...

I agree Eric. The plain bead blast finish looks awesome when it gets worn in. The anodizing wears the same way and has been more durable but I just missed that good old plain Jane look so I decided to lose the ano. What's awesome is the snail trails were unaffected by removal.

Nice work. I saw a wood inlayed sebenza that are bronze anodIzed that looked awesome too.

Thanks DBH.

More work! Will show new pics when the owner puts it on, he agreed to send photos. Hopefully the color shift will show up better when he shoots it, photography isn't my strong suit.

Nice work. I love the anodized look, but also appreciate the user look. Every Serena shows its wear ma's differently which to me is what sets each of them apart. I'd like to anodized my 25, but let the wear come through my 21.

Thanks, however, the anodizing wears the same way as normal. Just depends if the finish is blasted or polished to begin with. If you anodize a blasted scale, it will still take on snail trails. I'll post what my Large Sebenza looks like after use soon. I removed the anodizing on the front but not the back

Nice!!

Flame anodized looks terrific right thru the bead blasted surface. Great! I was wondering, some say base metal needs mirrior polish first.

Waiting for my large new drop shipped Insingo from CRK for double lug install, will do the flame treatment after it came back. Also like to do some mill work on handle as well. I have experiences on lots of projects but all with base mirror polished first then flame. Ex.:

I still might do mirror polish after mill work, but bead blasted surface has its merits, all pending until knife in hands, exciting time brain storming while waiting for the new Insingo.

Very nice additions goldie and victorf!!

I like it cause its different. its called barber pole anodizing and the finish was bead blast first so its much better than the original finish.
