Anodized my small regular user as an experiment...

I really like how the color turned out. I'm really tempted to have you do one of mine, but without scotchbriting it first.

Week 2+ and it's looking great. Carried every day in the pocket along with spare change and on occasion, car keys. No visible changes. The scotch-brite satin finish seems very resistant to scratching. The slight discoloration is from my finger oils. The handle colors do change with oil deposits from finger prints and I just wiped the handles with my fingers, spreading the oil around so its not blotchy. A wipe with Windex would probably give it a uniform color again but I just wanted to show what it looks like without any fussing.

I love the blue on that 21. Dark and rich. ;) I've had my new small 21 a week. Is it easy to do at home? Or send to you? Hmm

It's easy to do yourself. You just need to collect the right equipment and prep very carefully. Videos are on YouTube.
Or just send it to me and I'll do it for you.

I have small diamond plate sebenza ,wonder which colour would be nice for it(anodized).

It could look quite cool. Is the handle blasted while the diamonds are polished? If so, you would get 2 different hues of blue... If the diamonds are divots you could also anodize blue and then scotch brite the surface so you'd have gray Ti handles with blue diamonds...

That's really amazing work. Thanks for sharing it and posting the photos of how it's wearing. I really like the look of that particular blue. It suits the knife very well.

I did scotchbrite both sides of sebenza, looks so silver now.Looks nice but I am thinking about anodizing it.Maybe I should send you sebenza and let you experiment a little.See what happens.:)View attachment 320571

Just might have to take you up on that. Hopefully things turn around.

Its holding up better than I expected considering you've had change, and occasionally keys in the same pocket.
Thanks for the update.

Week 3. Hairline scratch on it from something and scuffing on the handle upon close inspection and the right lighting. But minor considering I've been carrying this in my pocket with spare change and car keys for a couple hours a day on average.

Front center area? I can barely see it, even on this enlarged pic.

I would recommend not putting the knife in a pocket with keys and/or change. Anything that can fit between the handle slabs will tend to screw up your micro edge.

I'm amazed at how it still looks. That finish is really good looking....I HAVE to send you something soon.

Yep, coins get stuck in the handle, hit the blade, one time a key was stuck in the handle. Blade is stonewashed and looks terrific, edge is still razor sharp with regular stripping. Sliced up a bunch of cardboard today and it was slicing like i just sharpened it. This is a real world abuse test for me. (having the WEPS gives me confidence).

He's doing it to test how well the anodized finish will hold up.
Edit- whoops, Maprik was replying at the same time.

Didn't expect it would look this good at week three. Looks great, and thanks for the update.

Yup, zoom in and you'll see faint scuff lines all over the handle. On a bead blasted handle it would be really obvious. Here you can see them when you look very carefully.
