another 500th giveaway

Tell you what, I'll give a whirl on the next whitetail I come across and let you know if it can still field dress worth a darn :D

If it is anything like my other Schades, I bet it will do just fine.

Well...

When I was a kid I found one of those in some things my dad left behind.

I carried that old folding hunter for several years, until I lost it one afternoon in the woods and never found it.

I have a couple of Schrade folding hunters with delrin scales, but have never been able to lay my hands on another one with bone.

I can count the knives I have lost over the years on one hand and have fingers left...

But that old folding hunter is the one I'd call back home if i could only choose one.

I want it because I don't yet own a knife that is older than I am. I've been collecting mostly new releases of the tactical folder variety, but now want to branch out into traditional fixed blades. I have a couple of Old Timers from 1979, but nothing older.

Thanks for the giveaway.

Here is a nice old Schrade, with good bone front and rear, but two different colors. It had a saber ground master blade, making it no later than 1950's. Someone has taken a fierce buffing to the steel, and there is some blade loss, but this old soldier will still be good for a few hundred deer processing projects. Tell me why you want it, and I might give it to you. Just finished my 500th post today. My decision will be totally subjective. Lower 48 only, please.

I'd like to have it because I can make a sweet carry leather sheath deserving of its pedigree

man i can't believe it--thank you so much--the knife will be treasured--

I don't want it, but I will say that it is a fine looking knife, apparently with quite a history behind it.

considering I came late to the party, congratulations to yiterp!
