Absolutely grand gesture, and I love love love the bone on that guy, my favorite parts are the light colored 'highlights' closest to the bolsters.

Paul mentioned its similarity to the bone on my 1978 model 6232 jack. It is those very parts that are similar on these two. Here is the 6232.

Doug - you have there a very impressive of vintage CASE knives there... great ... just great :)
 
Interesting to see the difference between the unused 1977 blades, and the worn (clip probably even reprofiled a bit) XX era blades of the two 6292 knives.

I think that knife looks great. What a great gesture of friendship, one forum member to another. I am continually blown away by the generosity of the folks in this forum. I've not seen another anywhere that matches it. I've heard it said in industry, that a company's biggest asset is it's 'members'. I think it true here as well.

A great example of why I am Both proud and happy to be a member of Blade Forum! Good to know there are still kind hearted people in this world. We could use many more good men like this today.
