I just love Barry Wood knives...just bought this one. Beryllium-copper frame, ivory Micarta inserts, 154cm blade...

Nothing new...this one was made in the 70's (and it's mint, unused). His standard was castings made from 17-4PH stainless steel, but also made some in aluminum, titanium and BeCu.
 
Copper Beryllium is a very stiff and strong material. It does tend to oxidize and lose it's luster.

By the way, very nice knife.
