I'm in a terrible rush right now, but wanted to get some pics up. 3D Spalted Steel is the best thing since sliced bread IMHO.

Those look really great. Wish I was going to this show just so I could get the top one. Nice work.

Sexy steel indeed ! If you decide to make a Snubnose in CPM 154 I'll make room in my house for it :)

That's the camp knife. 7" blade.

Stunning as usual Andy, but that 3D spalting is something else!!

Wish I had the money to jump on that bottom Hiking Buddy or bottom Recluse, either would be fantastic for a project I am working on.

Those are Baltic Birch.

Forgive me but that's Masur or Karelian Birch, named after the Karelian regions of Russia & Finland. The patterns are caused by a beetle larvae attacking the cambium apparantly.

I love the stuff and use it on my puukko as much as I can.

These do look beautiful pieces Andy. Great work

I'm still undecided about the 3D spalting effect.

Masur birch, Baltic Birch, and Karelian Birch are interchangeable terms on this side of the pond. The wood company I order it from calls it Baltic Birch. The stores here in Atlanta call it Masur Birch. Lots of woods have this multi-name thing going on. Osage Orange, for example has more than I can ever remember.
