Just got back from a 10K hike with my roommate and the dogs. We brought the puppy this time, to show her how to behave on the trail :) I hiked the same trail from my other post, but this time we did the full circle. We saw a lot of wildlife, a few deer running through a marsh, lots of birds, a few insects, and some horses on the trail as well. We found more ticks than I would have liked, but that's what we get for going off trail. Oscar loved it, and the puppy shuna did good, and I think she is making progress on her trail manners :) I hope you guys enjoy this as much as we did :)

this is the same boulder from my other thread, Tony(roommate) is a bit more of a climber than I am

Thanks for looking guys :D

great pics. i love the bully breeds, they make great trail dogs that wont wear out on ya, but being a mason what really caught my attention was that old stone structure. very neat

I would love to own that old house! great location, sweet construction!

Thanks for sharing, some awesome pics for sure!

Sounds like a fun day, except for the walking 10K part! :)

Yeah the pitbulls just keep on going, and having short hair keeps em from getting hot like other dogs.
That farm house is right of the lake/pond/swamp, and maybe a 1/4 mile from the MN river. The area where the pond drains into a creek has tons of fish. We were there on a sunny day last summer and you could see a huge school of fish(I think trout) trying to swim upstream.

Nice pics of what looks like a fine old time.......Thanks for the post......

A fine day good company, pups, and a lovely swath of the outdoors......YEAAAAAH!!!!.....

All best...

Couldn't get a clear look at the face, but is Shuna a chocolate lab? If so, I'm jealous... I have to wait until I get a bigger yard before I get a chocolate lab of my own :(

The abandoned place looks like a great place to explore. Maybe a potential overnight spot, too, if that's allowed there.

I've noticed the ticks are already out here, too. It's going to be a bad summer of bugs.

No, she is a blue nose pitbull. She is a sweetheart but not nearly as smart as a lab(chocolate or otherwise). Oscar is however, so I hope he can tutor her :D

She rarely holds still long enough to get a pic of anything but her backside

Makes me wish I had a pitbull, but that dream will have to wait a little while.....

Did you ever figure out what the humpbugs are really called?

We have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and you're right, they are tainted by a few bad owners not doing the right thing by them. I've just spent the evening watching football (Aussie Rules) with my five year old asleep on the couch beside me, my eight year old on the floor at my feet and Rascal asleep full stretch on my lap. Would love to get her out and about like you are able to with yours.

Great pics of a great day out. Thanks for sharing.

No haven't really had time to look though. Maybe I'll try today.

Ah, I gotcha. I guess I was way off, I just saw the brown coat :D

She looks like a nice dog though, every pitbull owner I've talked to has loved the breed.

They are seriously awesome dogs, you have to train them and get them used to other dogs(but you need to do that with any dog). We have never had any problems, and people love them untill we say pitbull, and even then they are surprised at how friendly they are.
