  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Another beautiful hike the dogs and becker

They are seriously awesome dogs, you have to train them and get them used to other dogs(but you need to do that with any dog). We have never had any problems, and people love them untill we say pitbull, and even then they are surprised at how friendly they are.

+1 Exactly. People are amazed when they find out how versatile and loyal pitbulls really are. I tell people all the time, any dog can be made to be mean..people just take pits more seriously due to the bad rep. I had one named Hard for almost 13 years and it was good. Now i have a new child (boston terrier) named Deebo the Hard headed lol.

That is a great looking dog. I laugh when people meet ours and instantly love them and I can tell they have no idea that they are "vicious killer dogs".

Thank you edctac. The funny this is that they will protect you or your kids until the end..with no real training at all. All they want is a little love. I actually "took" Hard from an abusive owner..and got him used to a better way of life. He was actually scared of my wifes hairless cat for the first month..well I was too when she first got him lol.

:) yeah our puppy bullies the older one to no end, and runs from everything else :)

Great pics edctac, looks like a good time for all.
How did you strip that 511? Paint stripper? Looks real nice.

99% of the time the "Pit Bull mauls child" crap is pure spoon fed media bs. most "pit bull" bites that occur arent even purebred dogs. reporters rarely get their facts straight, further slandering a noble breed. headlines like "half boxer/half lab bites child" doesnt sell papers. ive been in the breed all my life, and my father was before me, and ive never been bitten by one of my dogs. neither have my two daughters, but my oldest was bitten by Americas favorite, the beloved Labrador Retriever when she was 4.

heres a housedog i had when Haley was born, and he absoutely loved that little girl til the day he died. Big Rufus the lover and his sidekick Scrappy....

My brother also got bitten when he was 5, a black lab pinned him down n gave him 60 stitches in his face. IIRC more goldens bite people than any other breed. I'm not saying labs are bad, I had a few, and they were great too.

A lot of breeds get a bad rep.

The American Veterinary Medical Association assembled a "task force" a while ago to try to dispel these misconceptions... solid paper and research if you're interested, but people will ignore it and always believe what they want to without looking at the facts :(

to the OP, sorry to have hijacked you thread :D, the PitBull Terriers are a HUGE part of my life, and my first passion.
mine are show dogs, working/hunting dogs, as well as family pets.

check out the pass % off the APBT vs many of the breeds considered family dogs....

Thanks woody d for that great info. I have always raised pitbulls or some sort of terrier and have learned the ins and outs of training and getting to "know" their "ways". I have also been attacked by a dog and required 4 stitches on my hand while protecting a baby pit..the dog that attacked me was a chichuwawa (yeah i know i spelled it wrong lol)..and pits have bad names !

Doesn't bother me at all, the more people know the better. Feel free to post as much pitbull info in this thread as you want :D
