Back in November of last year I contacted Glenn about one of his modified TL29s. We went back and forth about cover options, barehead or double bolster, shield options, etc. I was all over the place with my choices/ideas. Bone, stag, ebony, single, double bolster, tear drop, no wait, regular butt, diamond no federal no shield no diamond........Glenn should have strangled me.

We talked about me sourcing a donor, but then Glenn let it slip that he had some new-old stock pieces from the Camillus factory that had never even been made into a knife. That sealed the deal right there. I knew with amazing parts like that I needed special covers. I asked Glenn what he thought about burnt stag. He happened to have some and the plan came together. I let him run, and so he did!

Take a look at these! I can't stop staring at it. It makes sending in my TC Barlow a bit easier. This thing isn't leaving my pocket anytime soon!

You can see, there has never been an edge on it. I sharpened it after this picture. Pretty nice putting an edge on a virgin blade.

The gentleman's carry. 1884 Morgan silver dollar, an Eversharp Skyline from the '40s, one of the leather notebooks I make, and of course the star of the thread, the wonderful burnt stag TL29.

That came out very nice indeed. I've a couple TL29's that were modded too.

It's kind of amusing to me that what I'm guessing was meant as a "work it to death, then discard" knife, how well they lend themselves to modding into a darn good knife. Even stock they are still pretty good. :)

Good stuff! I like it!

That really came out nice! Congrats to you and Glenn.

I think Glenn might have been worried that the stag didn't match better side to side. I'm left handed, so this stag handle fits me like a d handle Japanese kitchen knife. The mark side fills my palm and the pile side cups my fingers. The beautiful red hues on the mark side are why I LOVE amber stag. I want to find some more if this stuff to use on my own knives. I think I'm addicted! I can't stop taking it out and playing with it. Just a phenomenal knife.

That's a beautiful knife! Congrats. LOL, I have that exact fountain pen. Designed by Henry Dreyfuss I believe. Great pen.

Glenn does amazing work! I love when these threads pop up. Well done and congrats.

Wow! That is lovely.

I especially like the gentle "wave" of the fissures in the mark-side stag.
