Another beautiful one from Glenn, a TL29 mod story.......

Purty! That stag is wonderful! I hope you don't mind, as I just saved these pics for my own viewing pleasure. :D

That's amazing sir, looks nothing like all the TL29's I owned while in the Navy :)

Excellent work,

Congrats, Brian; what a gorgeous knife!! :thumbup::thumbup: I'll bet you're gonna love it for a long time! :D
Outstanding job, Glenn! :eek::cool::cool:

I think Glenn might have been worried that the stag didn't match better side to side. ... The beautiful red hues on the mark side are why I LOVE amber stag. I want to find some more if this stuff to use on my own knives. I think I'm addicted! I can't stop taking it out and playing with it. Just a phenomenal knife.

I'm probably weird, but I REALLY like the "unmatched" stag; seeing the differences in texture and coloring from one side to the other is for some reason very appealing to me. The flaming mark side with its deep valleys and bright shield is amazing, but then flipping the knife over to see a completely unexpected smoother, darker, more "dialed-down", ebonyesque rendering of stag is a very cool contrast!

You guys are too kind, you're going to give me a swelled head. Thank you so much for comments!

Brian is too gracious, being extremely patient, and letting me take things where they went. I really enjoyed how this came out, not really like anything else I have done.

Here are few more pics, with one showing the contrast between the mark and pile sides. It was a treat to build it for Brian.

Thanks for the additional pics, Glenn. :thumbup::thumbup: The last one displays both sides simultaneously, and to my eyes, suggests that there's substantial difference between mark and pile side stag not only in color and texture, but also in thickness. Is the difference in thickness really there, or just an optical illusion due to camera angle? To be brutally honest, I'm not as charmed by difference in thickness of the stag slabs as I was by the differences in color and texture. :o:o But still not a deal breaker for me, by any means! :D:D (And of course that's just one guy's opinion; YMMV.)

The pile side was thin to begin with, while the mark side was fatter. The end result is my attempt to maintain the great lines of the mark side stag, while making it thin enough to be useful
