the orange Izula has only been out for about a month and someone traded you for it?? :eek:

if you like hi viz, I always just use orange cord on black..

how would you compare the ride of the Izula vs. the Esky on the neck, (with the sheath rattle aside)

I wear an Izula with the sheath cut down (I don't have new pics of the PSK on it but here it is)

Yep, buddy ordered the orange one the first day it was available but didn't like it when it came so we swapped
 
Is it possible to heat up and press the factory sheath to get better retention or does the material not lend itself well to doing that?

There is a bigger difference than I thought there would be. The blade is heavier but only a little. The real difference is the sheath weight added to the blade weight. The Esky sheath feels a little thicker as well so I'm sure tat adds to it. I don't think I would notice in a pocket or any other carry method but on a neck lanyard there is a pretty noticeable difference.

I like your cut down Izula sheath. Any issue with the kydex wanting to split apart?
 
no problems the kydex/plastic is fine, I have a mini psk on it with ranger bands, the only thing I don't like is the shape.. I'd like to have a more squared sheath made up adn it would hold my psk perfectly..

i shaped it using the knife.. ;)

I hear they are working on a new sheath. I can't remember which thread it was in, but try a search. I'm not sure on an ETA, but iirc, I think they are clearing out the original stock (which was designed for a knife with more of a tanto blade) before they make the switch.
