Let's suspend all belief for a moment and assume you where to be airlifted to an unknown location, where you were expected to flourish. Tis might be a tropical island, a desert, The candian rockies, or a family campground, tou are aloud to bring 3 bladed implements 1 saw or chopper, 1 mid sized fixed blade, and one multi tool, and 7 additional items (psk's) do not count for this particular venue....What would your blades be??? What would your 7 additional items be?

I don't think I can answer if I don't know at least roughly what area, lot of difference between Kalispell Montana and the Florida Keys. I would definitely have a shotgun, my 15ot, and fishing gear beyond that I would have to know the area. Chris

I'd take my GB SFA, my Nessmuk, and a SAK huntsman.

1. Plastic sheeting
2. Parachord
3. Spider wire 20 lb fishing line
4. Cookware
5. Wool blankets
6. First aid kit
7. Beer

Off the cuff, I mean.

That's WAY to much equipment. You do know that Tarzan only had a one knife and a sheath don't you?

i love number 7

the essential item in every nature loving man's kit :D

Tarzan? Hehe.

I just followed his guidelines.

Aproy1101,
The comment was for RescueRiley. Nothing to do with your selctions. Good choices though.

I assume you have to be able to carry the stuff yourself, I also assume your wear appropriate clothes. Also, I assume you're in it for a longer stay, like weeks or months. If the stay was only a weekend, I'd probably just bring a Webber grill, steaks, and beer).

If so, the blades would be

1. full size axe
2. all round Bowie (Fallkniven NL2, Swamprat,)
3. Leatherman with locking blades

Items

1. jungle hammock/tent combo
2. fire starter
3. fishing line with hooks
4. pot or pan
5. first aide kit containing an antibiotic and surgical thread
6. sleeping bag
7. I don't know if I can consider a gun as one of the items, but if I'd bring a Ruger 22 rifle with a couple of Walmart bricks of ammo.

Mora 780, Wetterlings 19”, Leatherman wave

1) Steyr Scout w/ ample ammo
2) Plastic sheeting
3) Lots o’ paracord
4) Firesteel
5) Spiderwire / hooks
6) Metal pot
7) Wool blankets

Location - lets say Alaska

3 blades - Rat5, gransfors SFA, leatherman crunch or vic outrider

-Wool blanket
-firestarting kit (bic, firesteel tinder,)
-large tarp
-fish net
-decent led flashlight with spare batteries
-100' of paracord
-30-06/12ga combo gun with plenty of ammunition.

That net is a great idea, was it doc canada who first brought that up?
I suppose it could be a good hammock as well, and my mosquito net, I hear they are huge there. :D In the spring when they are smaller, I guess i have to cover my skin with mud and pine sap.

Interesting Question and very open to interpretation.

Becker Bk 9
Buck 105
Leatherman Supertool

7 items:

I have no idea where I'm being dropped, so I would like a

12 Guage shotgun with numerous shells - (who knows? Might be leopards)
Metal Pot with bail
Magnesium Firestarter
Water bottle or canteen
Costco Bag of ALmonds
Iodine Tablets
Sportsman's Thermal Blanket

-Clint

do all the items have to exist? some great lists already with items i'd have put in mine but for the sake of variety i've made some substitutions.

1. HI ganga ram
2. screw it, save space for a revolver. the ganga ram has a carda anyway.
3. victorinox oht/huntsman (mines yellow)

now the extras.

1. a giant cereal/cooking bowl made of infi that doubles as a helmet.
2. wool blankets
3. paracord
4. led light
5. firestarter
6. toilet paper
7. duct tape

i really want that infi beanie bowl

Edges would be: A decent axe-but not too massive, RAT 3, Buck Folding Alpha Hunter.

The other 7 assuming pack, boots and top-coat and N.Europe in spring.

1 Waterproof poncho, Wehrmacht or French Army.
2 Good butane lighter
3 Bluet gas-stove foldaway(this comes with pot)
4.Pain killers
5 Water purification tabs
6 strong teabags or coffee
7 Browning 20 bore pump-action Mossy Oak& limited amount of catridges. This gun being 20 bore is a lot lighter to carry, more compact and less kick&noise than its bigger bore/gauge brothers.

What else anyone?
3

Letherman (Ti), Busse Mud Razor, Martindale Golok.

Hutchi (tarp)
Bivi Bag
Stainless Billy Can
1L waterbottle
Mag Fire Starter
Bic Lighter
45L Patrol Pack.

Alright ILL PLAY

Scrapper 6
Full sized Fiscars Axe (very light for its size)
Victoronox I believe its a huntsman but i am not sure (locking blade serrated blade and saw) (got it from marlboro forever ago)

For gear
1 magnezium bar fire starter
2 wool blankets
3 12 x 12 nylon tarp
4 500 ft 550 chord
6 fishing supplies
7 Canteen/water bottle

(8) The Girl From The red Scorpian ADD.

Blades:

Gransfors Bruks Small Forest Axe
Mora 760
Victorinox Camper

4 Other Items (Who really needs 7? :D ):

1. Ferro Rod
2. Stainless Steel Pot
3. Mountain Hardware Satellite Tent (Why choose a bivvy or tarp when you could take a tent?)
4. Mountain Hardware Ghost SL -40 Sleeping Bag

3 and 4 are pretty unecessary, but they sure would make pretty much any environment quite comfortable, even in -40 weather. I just thought it was interesting that people would take things like bivvies and tarps when they could just have easily brought a high quality weather proof tent.

Wetterling large hunters axe
Eriksson Mora 2000
Victorinox *Bundeswehr* OH SAK

USGI poncho
German mil shelter tarp
Spark-lite firestarting kit
USGI belt carry canteen (pouch-canteen-cup)
250' natural jute twine
wool blanket
1 3gal bottle of water

If I don't know where, I'm gonna have water with me.
