Another brilliant PETA idea!!!

saw that one coming.. anyone taste breast milk? if so, details?

Very very sweet and thick. I love milk but could not take much without it affecting my stomach- after all it carries all of the nutrients and such that the baby requires for life.

Maybe if they added it to Cliff bars........ hmmmm..... New survival bars, made with the goodness of nature, to help you not go tits up?

I actually think it's odd that people find drinking breast milk so revolting. It's the only milk we were supposed to drink in the first place. Shouldn't squeezing it out of a dirty, stinking methane factory sicken us more?

Anyway, PETA is insane. Why is something that's too cruel for cows OK for humans?

I agree with the concept of PETA...but not with the things that they do and the ways that they do them. If a member of PETA saw you broken down on the side of the road, they'd stop to help you, but would set your car on fire in the process. They should be focusing on improving conditions for the cows used in milk production. It's really not that hard to do it the right way.

A room full of wet-nurses attached to breast pumps would be deafeningly loud. Brings a new meaning to the term, "jug band". The amount of milk produced per "donor" is really small. These poor ladies would be left with breasts that look like empty pastry bags after working that gig. That PETA link has to be a joke.

CBC Canada reported on this news release a while back

Ah- here we get to the crux of the matter.

Why is something that's too cruel for cows OK for humans?

The answer is, apparently, because PETA thinks animals are better than people. I just wish they would follow this line of logic a little further, and commit suicide to rid the planet of their worthless existence.

I pretty much am against factory farming but IMO most dairy cattle are treated pretty well. True the bull calfs are eaten but that's part of the game.

When the Hare Krishna's first opened their commune they were going to be dairy farmers but they thought they could use the bulls for draft animals which they did, but eventually since they refused to sell the excess males or unproductive females for slaughter they went under.

One advantage of goats over cows is they do not have to be bred every year and can be milked for extended lactations. I have milked some of mine for 3 years with out re freshening before. That cuts down on your excess males and allows you to get a higher price than if you flooded the market with kids every year.

Well my first thought is that if I am to contract an STD (sexually transmitted disease) I sure as hell don't want to get it by eating ice cream!

It is a stupid idea generated to get a reaction which it works, because here we are discussing such a stupid idea.

while breast milk may be... delicious, and make perfectly good ice cream, I'm happy with cows milk.

Uh, how do they plan to get all those women into the milking stalls?
And attach the....ummmm...milking equipment?
And are these PETA women going to be in the first group of volunteers?

Hmm....

Are conditions for dairy cows that awful?
I'm all for improving the quality of life for animals, but I though battery chooks and slaughterhouses were more the realm of PETA.
Is there even enough breast milk, or women I should say, to meet the quantity required? Surely one cow puts out a lot more milk than one woman...
